Of course being only 3 weeks post partum I would forget that we had to go to a friend's housewarming party on Saturday. Not only did we not have a gift for them it meant that I was going to fall even further behind on laundry!
The party was great, only one meltdown by Victoria and that was because she did not have a nap. We met another mom that was using cloth diapers!! That is a rarity in my area, that is for sure! A plus on that is that it made Doug feel less 'weird for doing the cloth route! YAY!
Today I was able to get 3 loads of laundry washed and dried. Folded is another story! I did however get 4 wipes made today and I have to say they turned out pretty well. If it weren't so late I would take a picture of them. I am really loving my new sewing machine, it can do decorative stitches!
My last event for the weekend is that I think Jeanette is going through a growth spurt. She wants to eat ALL THE TIME!! My poor nips! I am so glad that I have not had to supplement like I had to with Victoria, however, I do see why so many women give up on breast feeding! Not me though!

Today's Adventure? Failed
So today I was going to make some cloth wipes. Jeanette had other ideas. Today was a non stop cluster feed day! Every hour she was eating!! No rest for the weary mom right? I did however get a few errands done. Thank goodness for my Moby Wrap, it really has saved me! Today we went to the outlets to get Victoria some leggings for her outfit for her 3 year photos. What really gets me is that parents take no responsibility for their children today. The reason I say this is because our outlets have a small playground at them which is great, however there were two separate mothers that did not even begin to watch their children. Both of their kids were blocking the other kids from being able to use the slides! I mean really? You obviously didn't teach them manners, however have the decency to at least watch them so they are not impeding on the other kids fun!
On the bright side: I received fluffy mail today! I got 4 new covers and some Hemp inserts. I know this little girl is going to be a heavy wetter just like her big sister. So I guess unfortunately tomorrow's adventure will simply be laundry... how many loads will I get done?? I'll just say that I have about 8 loads backlogged....If I only get 4 of them done that will be a miracle!
See you after the next adventure!

It all started as a nice feeding session....
So tonight I was feeding Jeanette, watching some TV and all of a sudden my stomach felt warm and wet. My first thought was 'What the hell...... oh.' Her Smartipants leaked all over my stomach, pants, and my brest friend pillow. It may be a little early for her to be in them but she was getting too big for her newborn proraps which don't really fit anymore, she is long and lean.
Also, to top it all off today is my anniversary. So this morning I hauled both kids out to Target to get Doug a card and a gift. Money is tight right now so I really couldn't see spending that much on a gift, however there is nothing that he wants or needs. So that was difficult. I had Victoria telling me that she was sooooo hungry. I'm sure you experienced moms out there know the voice that she was using. And all I wanted to do was find him a gift! Not to mention that every 10 minutes she just HAD to go to the bathroom! It was all a ploy to get out of the stroller. I finally find the gift and card, plus a few outfits for Jeanette from the clearance racks and a take-a-long thomas toy and a few other things.... and my bill came to $80! Geesh...
So today was not a good adventure in being green(ish)!!! I can't wait for my new dipes to get here!! They will make it all easier!
Tomorrow's adventure: Making some cloth wipes!! Stay tuned!

So right now I know what you're thinking...
What the hell is greenish??
Right now it means typing with one hand because I have a child attached to my right breast, still wondering if that last diaper was really wet, and then realizing that I should have put a load of diapers in the wash tonight. So what exactly is it that I do that is green?
1.) I just started cloth diapering.
2.) I do recycle.
3.) I buy organic when I can
4.) I try to use natural cleaning agents.
So, that's really it. I'm not what you would call a 'crunchy mom'. Seriously some of them really freak me out! I know I couldn't co-sleep, I'm afraid that I will crush my child or kick them, I'm a kicker! Plus, I like having my alone time with my husband. Elimination Communication really scares me, if you don't know what it is here is a link. Elimination Communication Also, I enjoy modern conveniences. Air conditioning is a must for me. I ordered my epidural before I got to the hospital! If I got to my due date I sooo would have scheduled an induction! So all of this and more are why I am green(ish).
So, anyways I guess I should introduce myself.
My name is Rebecca, however I go by FunkyMom online, I am nearly the age no woman ever progresses past.... I have a wonderful husband, Doug, and 2 beautiful daughters Victoria who is almost 3 and Jeanette 3 weeks. I work as a retail manager full time so I am away from my family 50-60 hours a week off season and from November to January 60-70 hours a week. So that in and of itself is rough, however it is how we pay the bills.
Now that Jeanette is done with her meal, we should probably go to bed. We'll see if she actually sleeps tonight!!
